Counselling

Aflið’s philosophy is based on trauma-informed and victim-centered service. In this approach, professionals/counselors are aware of the prevalence of trauma and the impact it has on an individual’s functionality. The goal of trauma-informed service is not to address the trauma itself but to deal with the difficulties and challenges arising from it.

Aflið’s counselling is based on five core values of trauma-focused services: safety, trust, empowerment, freedom of choice, and collaboration.

The work at Aflið involves self-reflection, making individuals aware of their own strengths and assisting them in using these strengths to change their lives.
