Hjálpin contributes to Aflið

This fall, the women’s association Hjálpin in Eyjafjörður turned 110 years old.

This year, a decision was made at the Hjálpin association meeting to support 10 organizations with 110,000 kr each, a total of 1,100,000 kr. It was decided to focus on organizations that provide free services in North Iceland, and on November 25th, an open symposium was held at the University of Akureyri “Who’s Catching You? Free Services in North Iceland”. The organizations that presented their work included: Aflið, Bergið Headspace, Bjarmahlíð, Grófin Geðrækt, Kvennaathvarfið, Frú Ragnheiður and Píeta. Birna Guðrún and Erla Lind hosted this great event.

With this, the women’s association Hjálpin wanted to celebrate its anniversary and draw attention to women’s associations and their work throughout the country.

We would like to sincerely thank the women’s association Hjálpin for the support that will be of great use to us, support like this is invaluable.
At the same time, we would like to congratulate them on their 110th anniversary.
